Veronica Cura will produce Marcelo Mitnik’s Living And Leaving L.A, a bilingual comedy set in Los Angeles and Buenos Aires.

The film, which Mitnik will direct from his original screenplay, will follow the travails of a young Argentinian actor who, after being cast in an international film that is cancelled, decides to go to LA to hunt down the film’s director in a bid to salvage his big break.

Cura, a leading Argentinian producer, said Marcelo’s script had “great humour and depth of emotion”. She added: “I think this movie has the breakout commercial prospects in both the English and Spanish-speaking markets, and I’m delighted to come on board to produce.”

Her credits include Sundance 2005 special jury prize winnerLive-In Maid (pictured), 2006 Palme d’Or nominee The Headless Women and The Other, which won the Silver Bear in 2007.

Alex Zito, Cura’s partner at Utopica, is also producing.
