Rainer Grupe has been named vice president of filmed entertainment at
Canadian distributor Entertainment One.

The executive reports directly to president Patrice Theroux and will
play a key role in the company's international expansion plans while
overseeing content strategy in the UK, North America and Benelux.

Grupe most recently worked as an independent producer in London on
Buffalo Soldiers with Joaquin Phoenix and also handled global sales on
the documentary George Michael: A Different Story.

He served for more than 20 years in roles as vice president of
international sales for PolyGram Film International in London and vice
president of acquisition and distribution for Senator Film in Germany.

'Rainer has a vast amount of experience and high level contacts in
buying and selling movies on an international level and thoroughly
understands this market inside out,' Theroux said.

'His knowledge and expertise are going to be of huge benefit to
Contender, RCV, Seville, and KOCH VISION, and to all of us at
Entertainment One Group.'

'I'm thrilled to join the E1 team, and look forward to creating value
for this large, ambitious and well funded company,' Grupe said.

'The plan is to become a world leading content ownership and
distribution business and a one-stop shop for producers to get their
films and television programmes distributed.'
