RalphAlexander has been named executive vice president of distribution at SonyPictures Releasing International (SPRI).

Alexander,who has been with Columbia TriStar for almost two decades, takes on expandedduties in Europe and continues to report to SPRI distribution president MarkZucker.

"Ralph'sextensive distribution experience in all parts of the world makes him one ofSPRI's most valuable assets," Zucker said.

"Ivalue his common-sense approach to distribution, appreciate his intelligenceand work ethic, and eagerly look forward to the years ahead of us."

Alexanderjoined Columbia TriStar in 1987 as managing director of the UK and was promotedthe following year to vice president of distribution for Columbia TriStarInternational Film Distributors in New York.

Herose to senior vice president of distribution in 1997 and worked primarily ashome office liaison for the regional supervisors, eventually overseeing LatinAmerican and South East Asia directly.

Hehas held postings all over the world for such companies as United Artists,Warner Bros, Buena Vista International, and UIP.
