Producer and former CAA agent Rob Scheidlinger has joined The Weinstein Company (TWC) as executive vice president of business affairs and production.

Scheidlinger will work closely with executive vice president and co-head of business affairs Eric Roth and co-president of production Michael Cole.

He will be based in TWC's Los Angeles offices and report to Harvey Weinstein and Cole.

'We are very excited that Rob is joining our team and think that his diverse background in business affairs, production and as an agent will be instrumental in our continued growth,' Cole said.

'It's an exciting time to be joining The Weinstein Company as it expands its operations as a premier worldwide supplier,' Scheidlinger said.

Prior to joining TWC, Scheidlinger founded and ran production company Omnibus, served as executive producer on Cousin Bette among other features, and served as a CAA agent for eight years.

Before that he worked at ICM in New York as an agent and business affairs attorney, and he began his career as an entertainment attorney at the law firm of Frankfurt, Garbus, Klein & Selz in New York City.
