Julia Roberts will produce and may star in Scott Coffey'sbittersweet drama Happiness Sold Separately.

Fox Searchlight is in talks to distribute the film and Roberts will produce throughher company Red Om alongside Team Todd's Suzanne and Jennifer Todd, as well asJoe Roth and Valeska Ramet.

Based on Lolly Winston's bestseller, Happiness Sold Separately centres on a suburban woman whowithdraws from her husband after she learns of his affair. Ramet brought the book to Coffey.

"I've been looking for something to do with Julia for areally long time and I finally found the project that was worthy of her," saidCoffey, who previously directed Ellie Parker with Naomi Watts. "I couldn't getJulia out of my head when I was reading Lolly's book. Elinor is such a strong, complicated,woman and bringing her to the screen required Julia's integrity, empathy,humour and legs."

Roberts is currently in production on Charlie Wilson's War opposite Tom Hanks, Phillip SeymourHoffman and Amy Adams. She also voiced the title character in Paramount'sfamily release Charlotte's Web, set to open on Dec 15.

K-Town Super Frog, Coffey's adaptation of Haruki Murakami's All God's ChildrenCan Dance, is inpost-production at Anonymous Content. He is also adapting and will direct AndyGreenwald's novel Miss Misery for The Jacobson Company.
