SidneyKimmel Entertainment (SKE) is preparing to shoot the coming-of-age story CharlieBartlett this month starring AntonYelchin, Robert Downey Jr and Hope Davis.

Theproject is the latest title to join MGM's burgeoning domestic distributionpipeline and will be sold overseas through Kimmel International.

DavidPermut, Barron Kidd, Jay Roach and Sidney Kimmel are producing and SKEpresident of production William Horberg serves as executive producer along withBruce Toll, Trish Hofmann and Jennifer Perini.

Roach'slongtime editor Jon Poll will make his directorial debut based on Gustin Nash'sscreenplay about a wealthy public high school student who gains acceptancethrough carefully measured advice and the occasional prescription. Kat Denningsand Tyler Hilton round out the key cast.

SKE'ssenior vice president, production Holly Becker will oversee the project. Seniorvice president of business and legal affairs Nick Hanks negotiated the dealwith William Jarblum on behalf of Texon Entertainment and Howard Abramson ofBehr Abramson & Kaller on behalf of Perini and Roach.

"Gustinwrote a great script that combines humour with a socially relevant theme,"Permut said. "Jon has great vision for the film that promises to offer anirreverent and insightful picture of modern youth." Permut was representedin the deal by Edelstein, Laird, & Sobel partner William R Sobel.
