Slamdance has teamed up with Angel Baby Entertainment andexecutive producer Michael Malagiero to produce an annual feature based on the year'swinner of the fledgling Slamdance Horror Screenplay Competition.

The winning writer will also receive an upfront payment of $10,000against 5% of the film's budget, as well as net profits participation on therelease and payments for any sequels.

Production of the completed script will take place shortly afterthe festival in time for its world premiere at the following year's event.

'Slamdance is always looking for new and innovative ways toassist emerging artists and writers and to contribute to the filmcommunity,' Slamdance's Peter Baxter said.

'Producing the best script we can find in the genre is thenext logical extension for us as an all-encompassing organisation devoted tonurturing and supporting new talent and their visions.'
