US distributor Strand Releasing has acquired Aki Kaurismaki's latest feature Lights In The Dusk, which premiered at Cannes and screens in Toronto as part of the festival's Masters section.

Dusk, which premiered in Competition at Cannes in May, is being sold internationally by Michael Weber's The Match Factory.

The film, which also screened as part of Locarno's extensive Kaurismaki retrospective, has also been sold to Rosebud (Greece), Kino Swiat (Poland), Intercinema (Russia), Golem (Spain), BIM (Italy), Artificial Eye (UK), CNC (Benelux), Providence Films (Brasil), Sponge (South Korea), Eurospace (Japan), Orlando (Israel), AS Tallinnfilm (Baltic States), Budapest Film (Hungary), Filmcoopi (Switzerland), Cinepex (Taiwan), and Ringford (Argentina).
