28 European sales agents and production companies from 13 countries have registered at European Film Promotion's (EFP) umbrella office in Santa Monica's Loews Hotel for the forthcoming AFM.

The companies working out of the European Film Promotion office will include: the UK production houses Zephyr Films, Foundation Films and Reach Up High Entertainment Ltd; Berlin-based sales company m-appeal; Belgian producers Banana Films and Saga Film; French producer-packager Arsam International; and Scandinavian producer Smile Entertainment.

The umbrella office is being organised by European Film Promotion at the AFM for the tenth time. This year it features two companies from Poland for the first time. They are the Polish Film Institute and Krakow-based production house Gremi Film, one of the Polish co-producers on Peter Greenaway's Nightwatching.

Moreover, an innovation at this year's AFM will see EFP organise the screenings of six films that have been selected as submissions for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film category. The films being shown at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica are Revanche (Austria), Tricks (Poland), Dunya & Desie (The Netherlands), Arabian Nights (Luxembourg), The Home Of Dark Butterflies (Finland) and The Friend (Switzerland).
