THINKFilm hasacquired all North American rights to the upcoming untitled documentary profileof the much-loved British comedian Eddie Izzard, and hopes to unveil thepicture at the Toronto Film Festival in September accompanied by a live Izzardshow.

The project, firstannounced at Cannes 2004, combines performance footage and interviews anddocuments Izzard's life onstage and off. Sarah Townsend is directing andproducing with Joni Sighvatsson and Nick Hirschkorn serving as executiveproducers.

THINKFilm's headof theatrical division Mark Urman and senior vice president of acquisitions andbusiness affairs Randy Manis negotiated the deal with Izzard and Sighvatsson.

Izzard hasappeared in a number of narrative pictures including Velvet Goldmine, ShadowOf The Vampire, The Cat's Meow, and Ocean's Twelve.

He also has a brief part in TheAristocrats, THINKFilm's irreverentlook at the world of stand-up comedians that played at Sundance recently in theAmerican Documentary Competition programme. The Aristocrats is scheduled to open this summer.
