Emma Tillinger has been named president of production for MartinScorsese's New York-based Sikelia Productions.
Tillinger will oversee all aspects of Scorsese's production operation and workwith him on the development of projects.
Scorsese is currently in post-production on The Departed starring LeonardoDiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg, which will be releasedby Warner Bros in late 2006.
Next up for the company is Silence, which he will direct from ascreenplay he co-wrote with Jay Cocks.
Scorsese is also planning a documentary on the late filmmaker Elia Kazan, whichTillinger will produce.
"Emma has been an invaluable member of the Sikelia Productions team, andthis step forward in her professional career is long overdue," Scorsese said ina statement.
"In her time with us, Emma has proven herself time and again to be anoutstanding production and development executive and I know she will succeedmore than ever in this new position."
Tillinger joined Sikelia in January 2003 after serving many years with the lateTed Demme at Spanky Pictures.Prior to that, she worked with ArtistsManagement Group partner Rick Yorn.
