Imagi Serviceshas signed animation veteran Kevin Munroe to write and direct a newCGI-animated feature-length version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

This is thefirst feature project to revisit the global Turtles brand since 1993, when NewLine released Stuart Gillard's live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III in the US.

Munroe is currently inpre-production on the project and Imagi is aiming to complete in time for aspring 2007 US release.

Imagi presidentand chief executive officer Tom Gray, who guided the live-action Turtles trilogy through production, will producewith Imagi's Galen Walker

Francis Kao, Gary Richardson, Frederick Fierst, and PeterLaird will serve as executive producers.

Gray and Walkernegotiated the deal with Alan Grodin of Weissmann, Wolff, et al., MirageLicensing's Richardson, Fierst, Pucci & Kinder, and Brent Weinstein of UTA.

Munroe has workedextensively in animation over the last decade, mainly in video games,television series, and original comic books.
