Wim Wenders, whose latest film The Million Dollar Hotel opened this year's Berlin Film Festival on Wednesday night (Feb 9), has acquired a taste for music documentaries after his success with Buena Vista Social Club.

Wenders has confirmed that his next project will be a feature-length documentary about German 'rock dinosaurs' BAP. The German director said he also plans to make a 'small road movie' about the veteran rockers, beginning with a scene in the famous Lichtburg cinema in the town of Essen, and showing the group in concert as well as incorporating "fictional elements".

Talking on German news channel n-tv's daily interview show Maischberger, Wenders also said that, depending on commitments, he is interested in directing a music video with Duesseldorf-based punk band Die Toten Hosen for their song Warum Werde Ich Nicht Satt'

Wenders' Buena Vista Social Club, which features jazz musicians such as Ry Cooder and Ruben Gonzalez, is in the running for a Best Documentary Oscar nomination.
