AFI FEST has added Michael Haneke’s Palme d’Or winner The White Ribbon to the line-up, replacing AProphet.

Sony Pictures Classics holds rights to both films and decided to make the switch following a release date change for A Prophet, which will now open on February 26. The White Ribbon opens on December 30

“We hate to lose an accomplished film like A Prophet, but picking up a Palme d’Or winner certainly makes up for it,” AFI FEST artistic director Rose Kuo said.
