Arclight Films has picked up international sales rights to the new Jackie Chan vehicle which currently goes under the working title of New Police Story.

The film is produced by JCE, a new company formed by Jackie Chan and his regular business and investment partners Willie Chan (no relation) and Solon So. Finance comes from JCE and private investors including Albert Yeung, leading shareholder in Emperor Multimedia Group (EMG) and another recent Chan vehicle The Medallion.

Arclight will handle sales outside of Asia through its new Darklight division, which recently kicked off with the addition of another high profile Hong Kong film, Michelle Yeoh fantasy action film Silverhawk. Sales of New Police Story within Asia, including Japan, will be handled by EMG.

The Lethal Weapon-style action vehicle is directed by Benny Chan and stars Chan, Nicholas Tse, Daniel Wu and female star Charlie Yeung.

EMG chief executive, Albert Lee who brokered the deal, said: "We are delighted to be in business with Arclight again after the sales success Gary Hamilton and his team achieved with Twins Effect."
