SATURDAY UPDATE: Marvel Studios’ superhero mash-up enters Saturday on a $414.8m worldwide running total after adding $30.3m internationally on Friday and launching in North America on $80.5m including $18.7m in Thursday midnight shows. The international tally stands at $334.3m.

The studio can expect another mighty haul outside North America this weekend with debuts in China and Russia plus a host of major second weekend holds including a UK holiday weekend.

The Avengers has already surpassed the final international tallies of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and now Iron Man 2.

Elsewhere on the international front, Universal’s American Pie: Reunion has amassed $84.4m and opens in around nine territories through UPI including the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Taiwan.

Big Miracle stanads at an early $4.9m and opens in Mexico while Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax arrives in South Korea and has grossed $89.2m.

Warner Bros Pictures International’s romance The Lucky One opens in the UK on May 2, Argentina on May 3 and Brazil on May 4 and has grossed more than $10m from previous sessions.

Fox International’s Titanic 3D stands at $268.1m and This Means War has grossed $95.1m, while Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has reached $70.4m and opens in Mexico.

The Rum Diary opens in Spain and We Bought A Zoo on $37.5m arrives in Germany. Fox International Productions’ Jannat 2 arrives in India and select Middle Eastern markets.

SPRI opened 21 Jump Street has amassed more than $42.1m and arrives in around 10 territories including Mexico and Brazil. Pirates! The Band Of Misfits has grossed more than $63.36m.

The Hunger Games stood at $228.5m through Lionsgate licensees by last Sunday.
