Warren Beatty will receivethe Akira Kurosawa Award for lifetime achievement in film directing at the 45thSan Francisco International Film Festival (Apr 18-May 2). The award will bepresented to Beatty on Thursday April 25 at Film Society Awards Night at SanFrancisco's Argent Hotel.

The presentation willinclude a compilation of clips from Beatty's career, an onstage interviewand screenings of Reds and Bulworth will be shown during the festival.

Beatty made his directorialdebut with Heaven Can Wait(1978), which he co-directed with Buck Henry, followed by Reds in 1981 for which he won the Academy Award, DickTracy (1990) and Bulworth (1988).
