Jennifer Bell has been promoted to senior vice president of visual effects production at Universal Pictures.

Effective immediately, Bell moves up from her previous post as vice president of production technology and will oversee all aspects of visual effects creation and production for the Motion Picture Group. She reports to president of production Donna Langley.

Bell joined Universal in 2004 and has worked on Children Of Men, The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift and The Bourne Ultimatum and is currently surpervising effects on Wanted, Death Race and The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor, among others.

The studio also announced that John Swallow, who has served as head of the visual effects department since 2002, left at the end of 2007. He will continue to provide creative input on various productions including Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Cirque Du Freak and Land Of The Lost.

Swallow started with Universal Pictures on Sept 1 1996 as vice president of production technology and was promoted to executive vice president of production technology on Aug 1 2003.
