BIV is returningto Serbia and Montenegro a year after Pirates Of The Caribbean wasreleased, in October 2003 by the company's then principal partner Bandur Film.

The localdistributor suffered a financial collapse and until this November, BVI had notreleased a single film in the territory.

Now, BVI productis to be handled by Taramount Film which was launched this June as a sistercompany of Slovenian Karantanija Cinemas and Croatian VTI.

Taramount alreadyhandles independent US releases, local product and UIP titles, which had alsobeen absent from the market since June 2003, following the exit of its formerpartner Vans which met a similar fate to Bandur.

In addition, BVIHome Entertainment has also entered the market for the first time since the fallof former Yugoslavia. It will be handled by Prooptiki Entertainment, a sistercompany of Greek distributors Prooptiki S.A.

The Greek companyalready handles CTS theatrical and Home Entertainment and BVI theatrical inGreece; Fox, BVI and CTS Home Entertainment in Romania and Universal inBulgaria.

Prooptiki S.A hasalso acquired a vast number of independent titles which it will exploit in allthree territories.
