ContentFilm International will represent Eric Bana’s Love The Beast to international buyers in Cannes next month after acquiring the film ahead ofWednesday’s [April 29] world premiere at Tribeca.

Eric Bana, whose acting credits include Munich, Star Trek and The Time Traveler’s Wife, directed and stars in the documentary.

Love The Beast explores the meaning of his 25-year-long relationship with his first car, ‘The Beast’. Filmed over two years, the film follows Bana on an emotional journey from inside his race car to the surreal world of the red carpet as he considers the importance of family, friends and what it means to drive fast.

In addition to family and lifelong friends, the film stars car aficionados Jay Leno, the host of The Tonight Show, and Jeremy Clarkson of the UK series Top Gear, who bring their own points of view on the relationship between man and machine. The film is produced by Bana, Peter, Matt and Stephen Hill.

Bana’s documentary feature debut has become the second most successful documentary at the Australian box office.

Cassian Elwes and Emily Hirsch of William Morris Independent brokered the international deal and handle North American rights.
