Damian Spandley has been named head of sales at The Works UK Distribution.
He had been senior programmer for City Screen. He replaces David Shear, who recently moved from The Works to Revolver Entertainment.
He will now be responsible for The Works UK Distribution's dating strategy and exhibitor relation and will also play a key role in acquisitions.
Mick Southworth, managing director of The Works UK Distribution said: 'We have long viewed Damian as a really talented player within the UK cinema industry. He is someone that we strongly believe will further strengthen the Works UK as we step up our distribution activity, and we are delighted to have him on our team'.
Spandley will work on recently released Two Days in Paris and forthcoming releases such as Hatchet, Interview, The Killing of John Lennon and Black Water.
