California-based Showcase Entertainment has concluded a raft of sales on its family adventure White Lion that launched at Cannes market.
The company has closed deals in Australia (Roadshow), France (Trade Media), Germany (Tiberius), the Middle East (Eagle Films) and Benelux (Three Lines).
White Lionfollows the adventures of a baby white lion cub, who is cast from his pride for being different and has to survive on his own in the African wilderness. The animal thrives and eventually returns to lead the pack.
“White Lion is a perfect family adventure film featuring adorable lions, breathtaking scenery, and a wonderful story of triumph over adversity,” director of international sales Scott Bedno said. “I expect additional territories to close soon, including a theatrical deal in the States.”
The project shot entirely on location at The Kingdom of the White Lion in South Africa, Kevin Richardson, known by the conservation community as The Lions Whisperer’, produced and Johannesburg Lion Park owner Rodney Fuhr served as executive producer.
