Easternlight Films will handle international sales at Cannes on Hong Kong director Daniel Lee's martial arts epic Three Kingdoms - Resurrection Of The Dragon, based on the popular Chinese classical novel The Romance Of The Three Kingdoms.

Andy Lau and Maggie Q star in the story of a common man who rises to command an army charged with the task of overthrowing an evil warlord. Taewon is co-producing with Hong Kong's Visualizer Film Production.

The Romance Of The Three Kingdoms has also inspired John Woo's upcoming Red Cliff, which Summit will continue to sell on the Croisette.

'We are very excited to work closely with the producers Taewon Chung from Taewon Entertainment and Susanna Tsang from Visualizer to present this sweeping action adventure to an international audience,' Easternlight Films co-director Gary Hamilton said.

'Three Kingdoms is the biggest title acquired by Easternlight Films since its launch at the beginning of 2006,' Ying Ye, Easternlight Films co-director said. 'We will screen the first scenes of the film in our booth in Cannes and we are expecting a first quarter 2008 release.'
