The Toronto International Film Festival (Sept 5-14) will feature the world premiere of director Shekhar Kapur's The Four Feathers, along with the North American premieres of writer/director Brian de Palma's Femme Fatale and Julie Taymor's Frida.

Filmed in Morocco, Four Feathers is Kapur's (Elizabeth) epic tale of man's indomitable spirit and the fascinating disparity between civilizations. The cast includes Kate Hudson, Heath Ledger, Wes Bentley, Djimon Hounsou and Michael Sheen..

Femme Fatale is a contempory film noire starring Antonio Banderas, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and Peter Coyote. The film, which will be the festival's closing night gala, is presented by Tarak Ben Ammar and produced by Quinta Communications.

Frida, a gala presentation, stars Salma Hayek, Alfred Molina, Ashley Judd, Geoffrey Rush, Antonio Banderas and Edward Norton in a story about the lives of Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Directed by Tony Award-winner Julie Taymor, it is produced by Sarah Green and Salma Hayek.

The festival will also see a special work-in-progress presentation of 8 Mile. Directed by Curtis Hanson (Wonder Boys, L.A. Confidential), the drama is set against the backdrop of the 1995 hip-hop scene in Detroit and stars Eminem, Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer and Brittany Murphy.
