Film Movement has acquired North American rights to Diane Crespo and Stefan C Schaefer's cross-cultural drama Arranged.

The story charts the friendship between two Brooklyn teachers - one an Orthodox Jew, the other a Muslim of Syrian origin - who support each other as they each face an arranged marriage.

Film Movement president Adley Gartenstein negotiated the deal with Mark Litwak of Mark Litwak & Associates on behalf of the film-makers.

'Arranged's story of friendship across cultural divides is timely and moving, and we are proud to present it to audiences across North America,' Stuart Litman, Film Movement's chief executive officer, said.
