Focus Featureshas acquired North American rights to Thomas Vinterberg's It's All AboutLove from Denmark'sNimbus Film. As reported earlier in Screen International negotiations have beenongoing since the film's world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

"Ever sinceThe Celebration,we've been seeking to work with Thomas," commented Focus co-presidentsDavid Linde and James Schamus in a statement. "The wait has been worth it;with It's All About Love, he's crafted a lush and striking movie. It speaks to the hereand now in surprisingly direct and touching ways."

Nimbus producerLars Bredo Rahbek added, "Focus' mandate is total commitment to filmmakersand the stories they tell. We're so pleased that they will be shepherding thefilm to US audiences." The film has already been pre-sold to the rest ofthe world.

It's AllAbout Love is ThomasVinterberg's highly anticipated follow-up to his international breakthrough Festen (The Celebration) and is a romantic thriller set in thenear future. It stars Joaquin Phoenix, Claire Danes and Sean Penn.

The film was released in Denmark in January, where itreceived a mixed reception by both critics and audiences. It also screened atthe Berlin Film Festival outside competition.

ThomasVinterberg wrote it with Mogens Rukov, with Birgitte Hald producing and LarsBredo Rahbek, Bo Erhardt, Paul Webster and Peter Aalbaek Jensen acting asexecutive producers.

Vinterberg will soon go intopreproduction with his next film, Dear Wendy, which is expected to shoot before the end of theyear based on a script by Lars von Trier.
