Archibald Enterprise Film has picked up Italian rights to Todd Solondz’s Life During Wartime just a day before the film won the Golden Osella for best screenplay at the Venice Film Festival.

Fortissimo Films is handling international sales on the film and brokered the deal.

The film has its North American premiere on Monday at the Toronto International Film Festival.

“I am delighted that Life During Wartime be released by Archibald Film,” said Nicole Mackey, Fortissimo’s Executive Vice President – International Sales, who brokered the deal.  “They have a passion for this movie which will assure its future in Italy after such a fortuitous start in Venice.”

The film has previously sold to A-Film (Benelux), Lusomundo (Portugal), Tuck (former Yugoslavia), Monolith (Poland), Imagem Films (Brazil), HBO (Latin America), Shani Films (Israel), D-Productions (Turkey) and Budapest Film (Hungary).
