Co-chair Wouter Barendrecht has confirmed that Fortissimo Film Sales is taking all international rights for Walking On Water, one of three Australian features which go into production in the next few months in time to premiere in March 2002 as The Adelaide Festival of Arts' first ever film content.
It will be Tony Ayres' feature film directing debut and the script is by Roger Monk. Ayres already has a considerable body of work as a writer of television, and a writer and director of documentaries. Producer Liz Watts has planned an April 30 start for the Sydney shoot. She would not reveal the cast.
The film is billed as being about friendship and the complications of death and desire. The investors are SBS Independent, the Adelaide Festival Corporation, the Premium Movie Partnership and the New South Wales Film and Television Office. Globe will release the film in local cinemas.
