Scary Movie 3's reign at the German box office came to an end last weekend after it swapped positions with Along Came Polly which has been seen by over 800,000 cinema-goers in its two weeks of release.

The Top 10 saw no less than six new entries, led by Mathieu Kassovitz's Gothika for Columbia TriStar and followed by Welcome To The Jungle, the Golden Bear winner Head-On (Gegen Die Wand), Warner Bros. release of the Russian animation feature Karlik Nos, Concorde's Michael Crichton adaptation Timeline and the Denzel Washington thriller Out Of Time.

It was not surprising that after all of the publicity surrounding Fatih Akin's Berlinale winner over the past four weeks, Head-On should have such a strong start: the first release of newcomer distributor timebandits films posted the weekend's highest screen average with 1,031 admissions for each of its 79 prints and was set to increase the number of prints this week.
