The Global Film Initiative has announced the appointment of six new members to its board of directors.

The new recruits join the current six-member board in advising the Initiative and its ongoing expansion of the Global Lens touring film series and related programmes.

Now in its fifth year, the Initiative recently introduced theatrical, DVD and digital distribution of Global Lens titles.

The appointees are film writer Michael Guillen, educator and administrator Fredna Howell, musician, music production executive and marketing manager Miles Ito, film critic and academic Konrad Ng, philanthropist Judy Ovitz, and investor Dan Zilberman.

Current board members are board chair Susan Weeks Coulter, treasurer Al Cattabiani, secretary David Shevlin, Shaari Ergas, Maryalice Mazzara, and Jeremy Kay.
