Simeon Halligan is making his feature directorial debut with psychological horror/thriller Splintered.
Holly Weston, who recently appeared in Madonna's Filth & Wisdom, plays the lead as troubled teen Sophie, who leads a group of friends into trouble in the countryside before she is captured. The cast also features Stephen Martin Walters, Sasha Dhawan, Sadie Pickering, Johnathan Redwin, Sol Heras, and Colin Tierney. Steve Trimingham wrote the script.
Rachel Richardson-Jones Of Not A Number Productions is producing with Clive Parsons (Gregory's Girl) executive producing. The film-makres say the project is the first UK feature to shoot on the high-def RED ONE camera system. Mike Costelloe is serving as DoP.
The shoot has been primarily on location in Lancashire since April 14.
A sales agent is expected to be confirmed soon. The budget was raised from private investors in an Enterprise Investment Scheme.
