Hong Kong-Chinese action thriller Triangle, directed by Tsui Hark, Ringo Lam and Johnnie To, has been added to Cannes official selection just days before the festival begins.

The film has been programmed as an out-of-competition Midnight Screening on Thursday night/Friday morning at 12:20am. Cannes and the film's producers were waiting for it to gain approval from Chinese censors to travel abroad before announcing its selection.

The three Hong Kong directors worked in relay on the film - each taking it in turns to direct a 30-minute segment without forewarning the others what he was going to shoot. Produced by To's Milkyway Image, the film stars Simon Yam, Sun Honglei, Louis Koo, Kelly Lin and Lam Ka-tung.

Dreamachine is handling international sales on film which already has a French distribution deal in place with Wild Side Films.
