Icon Entertainment International has sold key territory sales for Jim Loach’s Oranges and Sunshine.
Diaphana has picked up all rights for France. Other territories sold include Odeon for Greece and Lusomundo for Portugal.
Oranges and Sunshine tells the true story of one woman’s struggle to uncover one of the most significant social scandals in recent times: the forced migration of children from the United Kingdom to Australia into hard labor camps.
Starring Emily Watson, Hugo Weaving and David Wenham, the feature is produced by Camilla Bray of Sixteen Films and Emile Sherman and Iain Canning of See-Saw Films. Rona Munro wrote the script.
Other titles being represented by Icon in the Cannes market include Ralph Fiennes’ directorial debut Coriolanus,Julie Taymor’s The Tempest and Karl Golden’s drama Pelican Blood and Kyle Rankin’s Infestation.
