The Denver Film Society and the Alliance Francaise De Denver will present the first annual Denver French Film Festival from June 17-27.

Remi Bezancon’s bittersweet comedy The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life will open and Martin Provost’s multi-Cesar winner Seraphine will close the event, which will screen 15 features in all.

Titles include Agnes Varda’s Beaches Of Agnes, Daniel Vigne’s Jean De La Fontaine, Christophe Honore’s La Belle Personne and Claire Denis’s 35 Shots Of Rum.

“The vast majority of films made in France are never seen in the US,” Denver Film Society executive director Bo Smith said. “This festival gives the people of our area a chance to see both films that will likely never be shown again in Denver, and to attend advance screenings of films before they are released more broadly.”
