Metacinema, Giovanni Tamberi's Italian production,distribution and communications outfit has picked up Italian rights to threenew films, including Venice Critics Week opener, P.S. I Love You.

P.S. I Love You,which marks Dylan Kidd's follow-up to his award-winning debut Rodger Dodger, is a romantic comedyabout a 38-year-old New York woman who believes her former boyfriend has beenreincarnated.

Gabriel Byrne, Laura Linney, Marcia Gay Harden, TopherGrace, Paul Rudd and Lois Smith co-star in the film, which is based on a novelby Helen Schulman. Fortissimo Film Sales has international rights outside NorthAmerica.

Tamberi has also acquired from Fortissimo Gregg Araki's Mysterious Skin, which is screening in the Venice Orizzonti section of the Venice Film Festival.

Metacinema has also bought September Tapes, a movie shot in post-9/11 Afghanistan about anAmerican man's attempts to understand the current state of the world. The film is sold by First Look Media.

Italian industry veteran Giovanni Tamberi launchedMetacinema two years ago. The company operates three separate outfits eachnamed after Roberto Rossellini films; Voyage In Italy (Viaggio In Italia) whichfocuses on the production of market-orientated, culturally stimulating moviesby first or second-time Italian directors, distribution arm Paisa which handles10 medium-budget films per year, and Cartesius, which focuses on multimediaeducation in close collaboration with Italy's film schools and universities.
