UIP has appointed Kurt Rieder as vice president, sales and marketing of its Asian operations, replacing Roger Pollock who relocated from Singapore to London earlier this year.

Rieder will oversee the release of all UIP product in the region, excluding Japan, from early September. He is currently managing director of Singapore-based distributor-exhibitor Golden Village and has also held senior posts at Thai exhibitor EGV, Village Cinemas in Argentina and Warner Bros Singapore.

The current CEO of MediaCorp Radio, Kenneth Tan, will replace him at Golden Village.

Pollock, who headed UIP's Asian operations for three years, relocated to the company's London office in April to take up the post of senior vice president, sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
