Marvel Studios has promoted Louis D’Esposito to co-president. The executive will work alongside marvel Studios president Kevin Feige overseeing the production schedule.
D’Esposito previously served as president of physical production and oversaw the budget and timeline on Iron Man and all Marvel Studios features.
D’Esposito will report to Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter. Day-to-day Feige and D’Esposito report to Alan Fine, executive vice-president, office of the chief executive and chairman of Marvel Studios’ creative committee.
D’Esposito served as executive producer on Iron Man and the upcoming sequel. He also served as executive producer on The Pursuit Of Happyness, Zathura, and S.W.A.T.
Iron Man 2 is scheduled to open on May 7, 2010. Production will commence early next year on Thor starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Natalie Portman.
