LosAngeles-based production and distribution company Mandate Pictures hasannounced a raft of Cannes sales on Gold Circle's romantic comedy Because ISaid So and Ghost HousePictures' horror sequel The Grudge 2.
Announcing the sales yesterday , Mandate's senior vicepresident, head of international sales and distribution Mali Kinberg said eachsold to more than 25 territories.
Because ISaid So went to Telepoolin Germany, Eagle Pictures in Italy, Aurum in Spain, Magna Pacifica inAustralia, Lumiere in Brazil, Montage in South Korea, Lizard in CIS, Svensk inScandinavia, Nu Metro in South Africa, Village Roadshow in Greece, Paradiso inBenelux, and SPI in Poland.
The Grudge 2 sold to Universal in the UK, Aurum inSpain, Gussi in Mexico, Paris Films in Brazil, Nordisk in Scandinavia,Audiovisual in Greece, LNK in Portugal, Alfa in Argentina, and PRA in Turkey.
Hooligans, Lexi Alexander's unflinching London-setdrama about football gangs, sold in a number of territories including EaglePictures in Italy, Aurum in Spain, and California Films in Brazil.
Meanwhile therewere additional sales on several other titles, headed up by the horror picture Rise, which sold to UPI in Australia, IVision in South Korea, Nordisk in Scandinavia, Ster Kinekor in South Africa,and PRA in Turkey.
The Untitled Pang Brothers Horror Project went to Pony Canyon in Japan and Nordisk inScandinavia, while Gold Circle's horror title Whisper went to Gussi in Mexico, Eagle Pictures in Italy,Lumiere in Brazil, and Nordisk in Scandinavia, among others.
