Vertically integrated entertainment company Maya Entertainment has boarded the thriller Preparation For A Murder written and to be directed by Jonathan and R M Robinson.
The Robinson brothers make their feature directorial debut on the story of two young men who embark on a hit without realising the repercussions that will ensue. Casting is underway and production is scheduled to begin in April.
Luis Guerrero and Chris Lemos of Vital Pictures will produce Preparation For A Murder along with Maya Entertainment development executive Sandra Avila, who will oversee for the company.
'The Robinson Brothers have written a compelling thriller that has the kind of cross-cultural appeal that will resonate with audiences,' Maya founder and co-chair Moctesuma Esparza, who founded the company with Jeff Valdez, said. 'We are excited to be working with them to bring their vision to the big screen.'
Last week Maya, which was set up to target the burgeoning US Latino market, announced it had greenlit American Tragic starring America Ferrera and Hollywood Players.
