Media 8 Entertainment has acquired the worldwide rights to Steven Kastrissios’ revenge thriller, The Horseman.

The film, which was a hit at this year’s SXSW Festival, will make its market debut on the Croisette and will screen for buyers. It stars Peter Marshall and is set in Australia. It tells the story of a grieving father who befriends a runaway teens while trying to discover the truth behind his daughter’s death.

Media 8 Entertainment president Stewart Hall called The Horseman “one of the most intense, exciting, and well-directed revenge thrillers that we have seen.”

Media 8’s slate includes Dali,  starring Antonio Banderas and directed by Simon West, Sean Bean action film Ca$h, UK comedy A Film With Me In It, and romantic comedy Everybody Wants To Be Italian.
