Michael Douglas, Amber Tamblyn and Jesse Metcalfe have lined up to star in Peter Hyams' Beyond A Reasonable Doubt.

Los Angeles-based Foresight Unlimited is producing and handling international sales for the update of the RKO classic directed by Fritz Lang in 1956.

Entertainment Film Distributors have already taken UK rights.

Ted Hartley, Moshe Diamant and Foresight CEO Mark Damon will produce.

The story follows a journalist trying to expose a corrupt district attorney by setting himself up as a murder suspect.

Hyams, who previously worked on End Of Days and Timecop, wrote and will direct.
Beyond A Reasonable Doubt will start shooting on March 3 in the US.

Further cast will be announced soon.

Damon, who previously produced films including Das Boot and Monster, said: 'The combination of an outstanding cast and a visionary director will see Lang's classic noir given a true 21st century spin for a new generation of cinema-goers. We are pleased to have been able to attach such outstanding talent to the project, which is testament to the resonance of the original source material.'
