In light of agrowing global production and distribution role, MGM Worldwide TelevisionDistribution Group has reorganised its US sales operations, with Paul Danylikarriving as senior vice-president of national sales and Joe Patrick relocatingto Los Angeles from MGM's UK office to serve as vice president of basicand pay cable sales. The announcement was made today (Dec 17) by Jim Packer,executive vice-president of television sales in North America, to whom bothexecutives will report. In addition, Michael Chinery has been namedvice-president of East Coast sales and will report to Danylik.

"With thegrowth of MGM's first-run syndication offerings like the recentlylaunched She Spiesand its vast library in syndication, Paul's leadership and expertise,combined with Michael's proven track record, will allow us to effectivelymaximize our sales efforts as we work to make further inroads into thiscompetitive market," Packer said in a statement. "For the last fouryears, Joe has been vital to the success of our European sales force. As MGMcontinues to roll out its most ambitious theatrical release slate to date, I amconfident that his knowledge and experience will effectively expand MGM'spay and basic television business."

Danylik arrivesfrom Paramount Pictures Domestic Television, where he spent the last threeyears as Western Division manager and oversaw marketing and sales of allfirst-run and off-network programming in the major western markets including EntertainmentTonight, Frasier and StarTrek Voyager. Beforethat he was vice-president, Western Division manager for Rysher Entertainment.

Patrick joined MGM in 1993 as director of contractservices, managing MGM's day-to-day television business throughoutEurope, the Middle East and Africa. He was later promoted to vice-president ofEuropean television, where he was instrumental in the launch of the MGM MovieChannels in Israel and Turkey.

Chinery arrives from Carsey-Werner Distribution, where hespent the last seven years serving as vice-president, sales manager for theEastern region. He was responsible for the successful licensing of such off-networkseries as Roseanne, 3rd Rock From The Sunand That 70's Show. Priorto that he worked for Network Associates Inc as territory sales manager.

MGM Worldwide Television Distribution handles globaldistribution of film and television product as well as co-productions for thefilm studio. Through this distribution unit, approximately 4,000 feature filmsand 10,100 television episodes are available to the global television market.The Company also distributes NBC Enterprises-produced programming in all territoriesoutside North America.
