Two UK film festival organisers have been selected for the cultural leadership programme’s “women to watch” list

The cultural leadership programme is launching its inaugural “women to watch” list today, with two UK film industry professionals making the cut.

Rachel Millward, CEO and creative director of the Birds Eye View Film Festival, which celebrates women film-makers, and Seonaid Daly, producer of the Glasgow Film Festival, will join 48 other women leaders from the cultural and creative sectors, who have been recognised for their achievements in their fields.

The cultural leadership programme, a UK government funded investment, was established in 2006.

Jenni Murray OBE, chair of the judging panel, said: “There are still nowhere near enough women in positions of power and influence whether it’s in politics, banking or – as we are concerned with here – the cultural sector.”
