NDTV Lumière has partnered with Indian entertainment portal www.bigflix.com to provide 30 world movies titles from its extensive acquisitions list to India and the SAARC territories.

These titles will be available on the site on a yearly basis at a price of $1.99 per download-to-rent and $4.49 per download-to-own.

Viewers can choose to watch films through real-time internet streaming or alternatively download movies and watch them as many times as they wish for a period of seven days. This service will be made available across the SAARC territories of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Maldives.

Dhruvank Vaidya, senior vice president, new ventures, NDTV Imagine, said: 'This initiative encompasses NDTV Lumière's objective to take the 360 degree approach to ensure that the best of world cinema is accessible to audiences. After the launch of the channel and the ongoing success of theatrical releases and home videos, this association with Bigflix.com is another step in our journey to present these wonderful films to audiences in India and across the SAARC region.'

The association kicks off with the release of Finnish filmmaker Mika Kaurismäki's film library including Helsinki Naples, All Night Long, Amazon, Rosso, Sonic Mirror and The Worthless.

BIGFlix, the home entertainment division of Reliance ADA Group, is an online and offline movie rental service, offering access to close to 1,500 titles in its video-on-demand division.
