Ed Burns' fourth feature, Sidewalks Of New York, will have its world premiere as the opening night film of the Los Angeles Film Festival (April 20-28).

Paramount Classics has domestic rights to the picture, a romantic comedy starring Burns, Heather Graham, Stanley Tucci, Brittany Murphy, Rosario Dawson and Dennis Farina.

This year's festival also features a horror showcase, which includes a screening of John Carpenter's 1978 classic, Halloween, and two new chillers - John Fawcett's Ginger Snaps and Larry Fessenden's Wendigo.

Allison Anders, director of Things Behind The Sun, and Kristian Levring, whose credits include The King Is Alive, will present clips and discuss their film-making experiences as part of a series of digital seminars and special events.
