The homegrown In MyFather's Den can hold its head high as a result of its first weekend incinemas, which comes after considerable festival exposure this year bothlocally and abroad. It grossed NZ$184,793 from 20 screens for Hoyts to claimthird place.

It was one of two openers in the top three but Alien vs Predator held its grip on thetop spot.

The battle of the monsters took NZ$302,454 from 50 screensfor 20th Century Fox in its second weekend on release. Next in line was The Stepford Wives with NZ$250,363 from45 screens.

There were two other new faces in the top ten. One was The Notebook from Roadshow, which tookNZ$61,154 from 34 screens to land in the eighth spot on previews, and the otherwas Soul Plane form 20th Century Fox,which took NZ$53,867 from 10 screens in what was its first official week incinemas.
