Jane Wrightson has resigned from her post as chief executive of New Zealand's Screen Production and Development Association to take up the role of chief executive of the Broadcasting Standards Authority from mid-August.

Wrightson, former chief executive of New Zealand On Air, former chief film censor and one-time commissioning editor for Television New Zealand, takes over from Evan Voyce.

"Jane's working experience in the broadcasting sector, her experience in managing a highly focussed and professional team, her knowledge of public sector processes and her clear leadership qualities are all compelling reasons why the Authority considers her the right person for the job," said chair Peter Cartwright.
