EXCLUSIVE: Jeffrey Greenstein’s production and sales company A Higher Standard has hired Tanner Mobley as VP, development and production.
Monley previously served as VP of development and production at Millennium Media. The hire reflects Los Angeles-based A Higher Standard’s ongoing efforts to bolster its slate as it develops more material and acquires IP.
To that end the executive will focus on sourcing, vetting and developing projects, and will also be involved in production. He will report directly to Greenstein.
“Good people are hard to come by and so the moment I heard Tanner was available, I knew he would add value to the team,” Greenstein said. “He and I worked closely together for well over a decade and I’m confident that being back together will take his enthusiasm and vast market experience and propel it to the next level.”
A 15-year industry veteran, Mobley brings experience in acquisitions, development, packaging, sales, and production. He joins A Higher Standard from Millennium Media, where he worked on more than 70 films during his tenure.
As VP of development and production, he oversaw the company’s development slate and managed key creative relationships with writers, directors, and filmmakers.
“Joining A Higher Standard presents an exciting new opportunity and challenge,” Mobley said. “Jeffrey and the team are building a home for bold independent storytelling, and I’m excited to help expand their slate and continue strengthening their reputation as a trusted partner for filmmakers.”
A Higher Standard’s Cannes sales slate includes Incógnito, which will see Robert Rodriguez direct Jessica Alba and Michael Peña as siblings Lena and Frank Aguila, whose family services business doubles as a front for covert operations.
The company’s first release was Luke Greenfield’s action-comedy Playdate starring Alan Ritchson, Kevin James, Sarah Chalke, Isla Fisher, Stephen Root, and Paul Walter Hauser, which reached number one on Prime Video. Its second release, the romantic comedy Solo Mio starring Kevin James, Nicole Grimaudo, and Kim Coates, opened at number two at the North American box office earlier this year.
