The 77th Annual ACE Eddie Awards will take place in Los Angeles on February 6, American Cinema Editors has said as it published its awards season timetable.
The eligibility period for film, television, documentaries, digital content and the new shorts category runs January 1 to December 31, 2026. Submissions open on October 1 and the final deadline is December 7.
ACE will announce its nominations on January 14, 2027, and the nominations voting window runs December 21, 2026, to January 7 2027.
This season ACE has expanded eligibility across existing categories to include work released on platforms such as YouTube. The organisation said, “This shift acknowledges the caliber of editing now seen in digital-first storytelling and ensures that editors working in these formats are recognized for their craft.”
Should a title receive more than two nominations in a single category it may be subject to review by the blue ribbon committee.
The organisation will announce three special honourees later this year comprising two career achievement recipients and the Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year honour for a filmmaker “who exemplifies distinguished achievement in the art and business of film”.
Those awards, along with the winner of the Anne V. Coates Student Editing Competition, will be announced at the awards ceremony.
Last season Michael P. Shawver won the drama theatrical award for Sinners and Andy Jurgensen took the corresponding comedy theatrical award for One Battle After Another.
