Ana de Armas

EXCLUSIVE: Ana de Armas is in final negotiations to join Black Label Media’s upcoming thriller Reenactment, which 193 is pre-selling at the AFM this week.

Grant Singer will direct Benicio del Toro, with whom he collaborated on the 2023 crime drama Reptile, and Cameron Diaz. Production is understood to be starting soon in Los Angeles.

Multiple market sources confirmed the casting news, although Black Label and 193 had not returned calls at time of writing.

Plot details remain under wraps on Reenactment. De Armas starred in the summer tentpole and John Wick spin-off Ballerina, and her credits include No Time To Die and Knives Out, and Blonde, for which she earned a lead actress Oscar nomination in 2023.

Black Label is producing and financing Reenactment, with Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill and Thad Luckinbill of Black Label serving as producers alongside Patrick Wachsberger of 193, the venture he launched with Legendary Entertainment.

Black Label’s Rachel Smith will serve as executive producer with Bradley Thomas of Imperative, Ashley Stern of 193, and LBI’s Rick Yorn and Scott Greenberg.

De Toro stars in Warner Bros’ Oscar contender One Battle After Another directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Diaz has been on the comeback trail after taking several years away from acting, and is known for Being John Malkovich, There’s Something About Mary, and Charlie’s Angels.
